The Sims 4 hits PC and Mac next year

EA and Maxis announce the next game in their record-selling PC life ruining franchise – also coming to Mac

I should have known something was up when Will Wright appeared earlier. EA and Maxis have lowered their shields just long enough to throw out a game announcement: The Sims 4 is coming to computers in 2014.

There can be few better ways to bounce back from a disappointing launch than a sequel in the biggest selling PC franchise ever. Having made follow-ups every five years since the original’s 1999 debut – yes, I feel old too – this was hardly unexpected, but provides the company with a welcome opportunity for positive marketing.

There are no specifics at the moment, but EA are promising further titbits throughout the day over on their blog. We’ll try to keep you updated, but for fanatics, auto refresh plugins are available.
