Rockstar Games, developer of the fantastic GTA 5 have often apologised for the technical issues that were involved with GTA Online’s launch. They are now extending that apology and giving gamers who were attempting to play GTA Online since day one 500,000 GTA dollars.
“We will be dropping a cool half a million GTA$ in the GTA Online bank accounts of all players this month, starting as early as next week.”
Does this make up for the 1.5 weeks of painful loading screens and errors?
It’s a start. This will affect the productivity of their new micro-transactions store where you are able to purchase in game currency. Rockstar are willing to take a large hit of potential income from that store to let us gamers know they are deeply sorry for any inconvenience.
Will you receive the 500k GTA$ even if you never played it at launch? Yes, don’t worry, you shall not be punished for being one of the few that did not beat the servers on launch day. You must play or have played Grand Theft Auto Online at any time during the month of October 2013 in order to qualify for the 500,000$ deposit in your in-game bank account.
You do not have to take any action other than to wait before receiving this money. Once they have finished repairing any issues left involving vanishing content such as money, vehicles and characters all players that have recently played GTA Online will be 500,000 dollars richer this month.
We salute you Rockstar Games! Thank you for creating a wonderful game, the only thing left to repair now is the kick any player feature.
