Xbox One players with a gold subscription may still be able to watch streams on their console, it will still be some time before they are able to stream gameplay directly onto Twitch themselves.
Twitch Support stated that ”There is no ETA at this time from Microsoft. Expect a few more months. If we know sooner, we’ll update.”
The Twitch integration with the Xbox One console was initially announced at Microsoft’s E3 press conference and promised to allow its users to ability to upload gameplay directly into Twitch, along with broadcasting gameplay footage and being able to watch others streams, however so far they have only delivered on half of that. Without the ability to Stream and upload directly to Twitch, Xbox One users feel a tad left out in comparison to Sony’s PS4 players being able to stream to both Twitch and Ustream.
Some Xbox One players are hoping they include certain features into the Xbox One streaming service such as a facecam using Kinect. But… that then may come with some problems, such as stripping your unaware girlfriend in the bedroom while the Kinect is active and streaming.
Perhaps a part of the delay in the Twitch streaming capabilities is to counter some of the crazy rule breaking antics people will do by combining both the Kinect and Twitch.
Are you looking forward to being able to stream on the Xbox One? Or do you not really care? Either way let us know via Twitter or in the comments below.
